The principle of Happew

Happew is a mobile app that allows creators to publish exclusive content to unlock. This content is only accessible on the Happew app.

A Happew content item can be made of a single element or take the form of a narrative thread, like a thread mixing texts, images and videos.

Unlike traditional social networks, Happew does not rely on random recommendations. The app offers a feed containing posts from followed creators, without unchosen profiles and without imposed suggestions.

Happew is free, for both creators and users.

Published content

On Happew, a creator publishes content to unlock. A post can contain text, an image, a video, or several media items organized in a thread.

Each content item can include one or more media, freely organized:

• Texts
• Images and photos
• Videos

These media items can follow one another to form a real narrative thread. The creator can unfold an idea, a story, a moment, behind-the-scenes content or an experience in several steps, like a thread designed to be discovered progressively.

Creators can also use the advanced publishing mode to offer a grid of content unlocked through random draws. This is what Happew calls a game: a grid made up of the creator’s content, illustrated with a title and an image, where each draw unlocks one of the available content items. A grid can contain from 1 to 15 content items.

In a game, each content item has a draw probability. The creator can configure the chances associated with each content item to make some content more frequent, rarer or harder to obtain.

How content is unlocked

To unlock a post containing a single content item or a narrative thread, the user watches an ad on the Happew app. Once the ad is over, the content becomes accessible.

Tokens only apply to games. When a creator publishes a grid of content, the user watches an ad and generally receives between 3 and 8 tokens. These tokens then allow them to launch several draws in the grid.

At each draw, a cell is selected at random. If the drawn content has not yet been unlocked by the user, it becomes visible. This creates an interactive experience around the creator’s content, while leaving the creator in control of the chances associated with each content item.

Users do not need to create an account or sign up. The app is enough to unlock, view and follow creators’ content anonymously.

Fair monetization for creators

Happew offers fair monetization for creators, based on real unlocks of their content.

When content is unlocked after an ad is watched, the advertising revenue linked to that unlock is credited to the associated creator profile.

Average compensation ranges between $2 and $8 per 1,000 ad impressions, depending on periods and markets.

Unlike traditional platforms:

• Ads do not interrupt content
• The viewing moment is chosen by the user
• Each ad directly benefits a creator

A space without imposed suggestions

Happew has:

• No search algorithm
• No automatic recommendation
• No suggested profile

The Happew feed contains posts from followed creators. Content is not pushed in front of people who do not know the creator, and users’ attention is not redirected toward profiles they did not choose.

This approach creates a calmer, more controlled space that better respects the connection between creators and their community.

All formats are supported

Happew treats all formats equally. Creators are not limited to a single format or pushed toward content designed to satisfy a recommendation algorithm.

It is possible to publish:

• Long texts
• Raw images
• Photos
• Videos of all formats

This freedom encourages creation that is more spontaneous, more natural and closer to the way creators truly want to express themselves.

Scheduling, notifications and control

Happew offers full control over content and content grids:

• Post scheduling
• Scheduling the opening and closing of a content grid
• Countdown visible to users when scheduling is enabled
• Notifications sent to 100% of followers when posts, openings or closings occur

An open grid is visible and usable. A closed grid remains visible but can no longer be used. Opening and closing make it possible to create limited-time grids or prepare a post before it opens.

Content and grids can also be archived so they no longer appear on the profile. Users can enable notifications for a profile so they do not miss any new publication.
